Background

A world leading manufacturer of recreational and light commercial small hovercraft. Based in Kent in the SE of England, BHC Hovercraft have been developed over the course of more than 30 years. Producing on average 100 high quality craft each year and shipping worldwide, to private clients and through their distribution networks now covering 4 continents.

BHC have dealerships in a number of countries in addition to local UK dealerships. Presently there is BHC France, BHC Baltic, BHC Australia, BHC China, BHC South America, BHC USA & Caribbean plus the UK dealerships. Contact details can be obtained from BHC by call or email.

BHC currently produce three main models, the Coastal Pro, the Beast, and the Mini. In addition, they are working on a larger 9 seat craft, the BHC 700/750D, and carrying out an R&D programme with Brighton University into hybrid and electric powering.

The Coastal-Pro MACV has proved its value in a variety of demanding conditions. With uses ranging from rescue craft on frozen Finnish rivers to UXO detection in Kuwaiti oil pits, it has provided a platform for commercial and utility work such as accessing island homes, intertidal crew transfer on civil engineering projects, as a geotechnical survey platform  and for regular TV and media work.

The Beast is the sports cruiser of the hovercraft world. With an array of extras and beautiful styling The Beast is “the best fun you can have with an engine” according to Jeremy Clarkson who used one to open his Top Gear Live Show. The ultimate big boy toy, The Beast comes with a speedo, improved ‘endplate’ rudders, key coloured acrylic dashboard, rubber nonslip flooring, all round white lights, navigation lights, stylish GSXR headlight and piped marine quality fabric seating as standard. Quite a package!

The Mini is “the go-kart” of hovercraft – it is ideal for kids of all ages (even the adult ones). A recreational toy, for driving events businesses or even novice racing, this versatile little hovercraft has it all. Piloted whilst kneeling but able to be controlled in a seated position, this hovercraft is better suited to land and small shallow waters. The Mini has proved itself time and time again, the payload is second to none for a craft its size, and with its lightweight hull the speed is remarkably surprising…

At the other end of the scale is the BHC 700/750D. The BHC700/750D will have the option of being either fitted with a ‘cuddy’ or be fully enclosed. This craft gives a payload of up to 750kg depending on the specification chosen and has seating for up to 9 people – it is ideally suited for coastal and intertidal areas. This commercial and utility craft is the perfect choice for search & rescue, survey, and safety cover.  BHC are currently expanding their production to produce these craft for their distributors and search and rescue services around the globe.

BHC provide a full suite of services for their customers including annual maintenance programmes, replacement parts, and craft upgrades or part exchange.

The team at BHC are enthusiasts as well as expert in their field. They host several cruising and recreational ACV events each year.
