Techsec Notes 8th July

In the last few weeks some time has been spent to scan and load the papers from two of the Society’s major conferences:

♦  The Third International Hovercraft Conference, held in November 1981

♦  The Fourth International Hovercraft Conference, Held in May 1987

Up until the end of July there are two locations to access these conference proceedings – both in the open library and in the members library. After the end of the month access will be limited to the members library. Until then I hope that this material can give visitors a feel for THS, and encourage them to register on the site, and to become a member to support us and the industry.

YouTube Channel and Presentation Videos

During the last few days we have set up a YouTube Channel for The Hovercraft Society.
The first material to be loaded is the first three of our presentation meetings, from December 2021, March 2022, and June 2022.
THS Members will find a link to the channel and summary descriptions on the Video and YouTube Guide page which is the first item under Members Library menu at top of the screen.
We aim to have presentations from key personnel in the ACV and SES Industry, as well as enthusiasts working on the technology, and technologists from academia to explain some of the latest theoretical work.
Keep an eye on the guide for new materials!

Some Thoughts end 2020

Since my dear friend Brian Russell died, we have hit a pause in communication in The Hovercraft Society. The world continues though, and that does include ACV and SES technology and operations. I have recently made a visit to two SES specialists in Southern Norway who have closer connections to IoW than I expected (see below). I am preparing material for the Royal Institution of Naval Architects that will take a while. Meanwhile it strikes me that it might be good to share some thoughts with you and so try to regain a bit of contact.
